The catalogue comes from the GitHub API, then from a cache while it holds.
An on-disk copy takes over when the API stops answering: the site keeps
serving the last known list rather than an empty page.

No token is required. Without one, GitHub grants sixty requests per hour —
far more than the cache consumes.
